Previewing FT files on ios

Why is it that Marked2 preview on the Mac works nicely and previews a series of lines without am empty newline between without trouble with one underneath the other, but both textastic and editorial on iOS don’t and always join the lines together? This limits the use of a wad of single lines when viewing on iOS unless they are list items.

I understand from the basic markdown syntax that a newline is necessary to identify paragraphs, but wondered if FT will have the ability to work around it somehow.

That’s really a question of which previewer the iOS app chooses to use (there are various flavours around).

At the text editor end (FT or any other editor) all that can be done is to choose whether to 1 or 2 newline characters (and possibly adjust with search/replace, either manually or scripted).
