I would like to be able to have an option for automatic backups of documents to another file and destination. Anyone else interested, or is this an obvious and easy scripting exercise, though would prefer it built in on say close of document or quit.
Do you mean file by file backups, or concatenating multiple files into a single backup (e.g. zip)?
Could you automate this kind of thing with something like Hazel?
I mean just a simple backup of the file with a date and time stamp in a file of my choice, like BBEdit can do.
I don’t want a toolkit of a range of utilities (where there is overlap too) so I suppose scripting is the way but would be nice to have the option, that is why I use macs, for simple built-in tools.
