It has been a long time coming, I will be releasing the first beta of FoldingText 3.0. A new FoldingText website was created also. Version 3 has been rewritten from scratch.
An extension library
Several new modes, Alarm,
new SDK and claude/code skills for creating extensions
Let me know what you think. If you find any issue please let me know here.
I’m still working on that, I’m trying to decide if I want an app store version also. The non-app store version will be a yearly subscription and if you decide you don’t want to pay yearly, you can use the app forever without updates. I really dislike having to pay for an app yearly just to use it.
I would love to here what you think about the new version and the pricing model.
Thanks, Croy! General focusing works, but focusing on tags and headings doesn’t work like it does in the original version of FT. The checkboxes aren’t working either.
Would you be able to give me more detail on the checkboxes not working? There are two ways to have a checkbox add a list under a .todo tag or using -[] any were. Are you trying to use one of these?
I didn’t have much time to test, and I loaded an old FT document into the latest version of FT 3.0. The existing checkboxes were not recognized as checkboxes and were instead rendered by FT 3.0 as large, greyed-out bullet points, which I mistakenly interpreted as checkboxes (unfortunately, their design and size are quite misleading).
Now that I’ve created a new task, everything works correctly and the checkbox is displayed as expected.
However, Focus Headings and Focus Tags still don’t work the way they do in the original FT.
Unfortunately, the three-dot button for showing the outline context while in Focus Mode doesn’t work either.
